An Instructional Strategy That Has a Lot of Merit

Jim visits with Dr. Yong Zhao, University Distinguished Professor, College of Education, MSU. We discuss the English concept of Personalized Learning.

In November, 2008, Jim visited four high schools in England that used this model of instruction for 14 â 18 year old students. It is something he thought deserves a look by Michigan secondary principals.

Dr. Zhao, is on the Board for iNet. An international network of secondary schools that are working together to find that way to capture the interest of secondary students into the learning process. We open the door for you to this very productive teaching method.

Personalized learning is the challenge to meet more of the needs of more students more fully than has been achieved in the past. It is about ensuring that more students achieve their full potential during their school years and are better prepared for lifelong learning. It is concerned with a transformation of education and schooling that is fit for citizens in the 21st century.
